Please note:

There is no charge for clinical calls for animal health issues.  Veterinarians are available 24/7 to help with your clinical concerns.

For rodents and other small animals (e.g. frogs) in Central Facilities:

  1. Flag affected cages for any clinical finding. For RAR, use the orange “Clinical Call Card.”
  2. For cases during regular business hours found in an RAR vivarium, please fill out the clinical log sheet available on the room, suite, or main vivarium door with relevant information, or notify husbandry personnel or the area supervisor.
  3. For emergency cases during regular business hours, please call 410-955-3273.

For small animals and non-traditional species (e.g. snakes) in Satellite Facilities:

  1. Email [email protected] for non-emergency cases.
  2. For emergency cases during regular business hours, please call 410-955-3273.

For all other animals:

  1. Non-emergency calls may be communicated via e-mail or text message.  Emergency calls are placed via a direct phone call to the veterinarian’s cell phone. The veterinary contact list is posted in the anteroom or on the entry door if no anteroom in every large animal facility.
  2. If the veterinary resident listed as providing coverage for that area does not respond immediately and it is an emergency, proceed to call each veterinarian listed until someone is reached.
  3. For non-emergency clinical concerns placed via text message or email, the veterinarian will respond to you the same day as soon as they are available.

*For all EMERGENCY cases AFTER HOURS (before 8:30am or after 5:00pm Monday through Thursday; before 8:30am or after 3:30pm on Fridays), and on WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS, please call the on-call veterinarian at 443-904-4332.*
